A budding journalist will have an opportunity to spend the day at The Brandon News as a reporter for the day. The winner will choose a subject to interview (or we can recommend one). With Brandon News Editor D'Ann White's help, he or she will conduct the interview, take notes, photograph the subject with the help of Brandon News photo editor Heather Martello, work with seasoned reporters to write the story, headline and cutline, have the story approved by the copy editor and then actually lay it out as it will appear in The Brandon News with assistance from layout artists. The story will then be published in The Brandon News complete with the young reporter's byline and photo credit. It sounds like a lot of work but we make it fun. The winner should be able to read and write but we'll guide him through every step.
